About Us

Canada is one of the most desirable places to live in the world and there is no better place to have the ClearOne Olympic Badminton Academy (COBA) located then in beautiful Richmond, British Columbia, only 10 min. drive from Vancouver International Airport. Canada has qualified players in every Olympic Games but has yet to win a medal.

The COBA is an international badminton training centre which attracts many of Canada’s badminton superstars, international players and has an international flavour of coaches headed by Darryl Yung (CAN), Bobby Milroy (CAN), Sandiarto (INA), Ronne Maykel Runtulalo (INA) and Jackie Ruan (CHN). The COBA has been designed to give all players a full-time place to train in hopes of representing their respective countries on the international badminton scene.

COBA’s Mission Statement:

The COBA’s mission is to pass on to the future champions the same knowledge, passion and competitive spirit that drove it’s selected coaches to be world-class players. We seek to combine the experience of former champions with world-class coaching, cutting-edge training methods and premier facilities. The COBA is thus able to offer unrivaled programs for players, aspiring to be top international competitors.

COBA’s Objectives:

The COBA aspires to bring badminton players both in Canada and the World an opportunity to further develop their skills with some of the top coaches and players from Indonesia and Canada. The COBA offers ambitious players, who have individual goals of being an international champions, the experience of our International array of coaches and sparring partners. COBA’s training regiment is geared to suit players individually by developing personalized training programs for each member of the academy. COBA will also assist players in fundraising activities and sponsorships in hopes to enable each player to travel to various BWF sanctioned tournaments.
